1st day: Friday in Vilnius

We start the weekend trips witht he arrival to Vilnius. Transfer to hotel. Short City Tour in Vilnius. Vilnius’ Old Town, the most extensive in the Eastern Europe, was inscribed on UNESCO World Culture Heritage Site because of its high architectural and historical values. The main tourist route goes from the Cathedral Square through Pilies street and the 16th century Gothic corner to the Gates of Dawn. While strolling along the small and comfortable streets of the Old Town, have a look upward. You will see what nice ornaments decorate the houses, how wavy lines and playful lights of the decorous facades and domes, towers and belfries blend readily with the ancient undulating environs of the city, creating a new skyline and a special mood. Just a few steps away from Pilies street are St. Anne’s, St. Bernardine and St. Nicholas churches, a marvelous complex of Gothic and Renaissance. St. Anne’s Church is especially unforgettable. Its facade is patterned with 33 different varieties of bricks, making it amazingly graceful. Visit the Amber Gallery and one of the oldest Universities in Eastern Europe. Take an opportunity to see a picturesque panorama of medieval Vilnius from the top of the Gediminas Castle Western Tower.

2nd day: Saturday, Vilnius - Trakai - Vilnius

After breakfast tour to Trakai, 27 km to the West of Vilnius. The second capital of Lithuania was established in 1316 by Grand Duke Gediminas in the place now called Old Trakai. At the end of the 14th century the Trakai Castle was built on an island in the midst of Lake Galvė, which is mentioned as the architectural ensemble of international importance at present. It is the only water type castle in the Eastern Europe. The names of the builders and architects of the castle are not known, but everybody is surprised at the powerful stone walls, its thick and tall towers. Return to Vilnius.

Afternoon free to enjoy Vilnius’ spirit. Have a walk through the narrow, curved streets and small squares of the Old Town on your own. Craftsmen of Vilnius are famous from the ancient times. Small gift and souvenir shops, located all over the downtown, offer a wide selection of goods. Vilnius’ pubs, cafes and bars will let you to enjoy your leisure time and have an inexpensive meal. Those who seek lively entertainment may visit the various night clubs as well as discos. Optional “Farewell dinner” at local restaurant in Vilnius.

3rd day: Sunday in Vilnius

Transfer to airport. Departure.
